From the cradle to the grave in this community is the record of the late William A. Possin. The deceased, a son of August Possin and his wife Sophia, nee Schwan was born in Rapidan Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota, on June 20, 1879 He was baptized by the then Pastor of Saint John Lutheran Church, Good Thunder, the Rev. Schulenberg, on September 14, 1879. His early schooling was also at Saint John where he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 18, 1894 by the Rev. J. Grabarkewitz. On January 30, 1902 he was united in marriage with Miss Dorothea Tischer, with whom he shared joys and sorrows for 57 years. To this union was born one daughter.

During his entire lifetime Mr. Possin lived and labored in this community. His faithful spouse was taken from his side in May of last year. For some time the deceased had been ailing, becoming hospitalized about ten days ago. Gradually his strength and resistance waned and his last hour came last Saturday at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 15 days. His demise is mourned by his daughter, Mrs. Marvin Whitney of Lake Crystal; 1 grandson, John Whitney of Kenyon, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers and 2 sisters and a host
of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at Saint John Lutheran Church on Tuesday. Interment was made on the church's cemetery, his pastor, the Rev. Walter Bouman, officiating. "Bill", as everyone called him, was a person you liked being with. We always looked forward to his visits here at the Herald. He was a jolly fellow who brought a lot of friendliness with him.
