General Notes:
Source: Barbara McDonald: I have additional information regarding Lulu Busby. Her mother, Jemima Belle Shuey was my mothers (Mary Shuey Allen) first cousin. I have a picture of her tombstone in the Newtown, Missouri Cemetery. The stone says L. Belle 1870-1933. Next to her is a stone that says J. Joel, 1863-1927. There is a big Shuey stone above them. I don't know who J. Joel is and have never been able to find any info on him. In 1991 my father wrote the Masonic Lodge about him since there was a Masonic emblem on the tombstone. They said he belonged to the Red Oak, Iowa Lodge number 162. The lodge reported his date of death as September 15, 1923. Hiram Shuey and his wife, Emma Logan, (born Dec 15, 1842 and died 1908, married Hiram Oct 25, 1863 IN) are buried in the Brantley Cemetery near Newtown, Missouri. Emma Logan is the daughter of James Logan (born Aug 8, 1813, Indiana and died Dec. 3, 1890, Indiana. Married 1836, Indiana) and Jemima Vorhees-Vories, (born 1814, Ohio and died after 1880, she is the daughter of Abraham Vories and Elizabeth Downey). Jemima Belle Shuey Busby is my grandfather, Elias Shuey's sister. Are you directly related? The reason I ask is I'm looking for pictures of Hiram, Emma, Jemima Belle, any of her siblings, such as Eli as Hiram, James Logan, Alexander, John Wesley, and so forth. Any help in this area would be appreciated. Barb McDonald ----------------------------------------
