He once dated a Miss Kentucky, who really had her sights set on him until she decided that he was not as wealthy as she thought, and, as a Miss Kentucky, she deserved better.

Warren D. Shanabrook, 87, died suddenly Tuesday evening at the home of his sister, Mrs. [Mary] Earl Adams, near Trempealeau, with whom he was living.

He was born April 12, 1874 in Altoona, Pa., son of Mr. & Mrs. David Shanabrook. He had lived here most of his life and was a retired carpenter.

Mrs. Adams is the only survivor. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trempealeau Federated Church, the Rev. Donald Riley officiating. Burial will be in Trempealeau Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Smith Mortuary, Galesville, where a Masonic service will be held at 8 o'clock, and at the church in Trempealeau after 12:30.
