5 Carol V. Renton, 85, of Rockford passed away peacefully, Monday, September 2, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 14, 1928, in Rockford, she was one of 17 children, born to Frank and Josephine (Fanning) Holmes. Carol is survived by her children, John W. Renton Jr., Michael R. Renton, Deborah K. White, and Mark P. Renton. She is preceded in death by her parents; 16 brothers and sisters; daughter-in-law, Pam Renton; son-in-law, Larry White; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State St., Rockford. Reverend Bertie Holmgren Officiant. Visitation 10 a.m. until the time of service.
