Raymond E. Holmes, 68, of Loves Park passed away Nov 10, 2006. He was born June 9, 1938 in Rockford, the son of Radford and Lela (Heyenga) Holmes. Mr. Holmes attended Harlem Schools. He was united in marriage to Karen K. Rudehs on Feb 13, 1960. Raymond worked 25 years as a machinist at Barnes Drill, followed by Northern Manufacturing and Engineering. His hobbies included auto mechanics and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen K. Holmes of Loves Park; children, LeAnne Bunger and husband Matt, of the Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., Kevin Holmes and wife Mary of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Joy Lynn and Andrew Joseph Holmes; sisters Beverly Gettes and husband Wayne, Bonnie Eudey and husband Richard; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
