Deputies Call Hanging Suicide

Radford F. Holmes, 53, 10517 Ventura Blvd., reportedly suffering from an incurable disease, was found hanged in his garage Tuesday evening. He had apparently hanged himself, sheriff's deputies said.

Mrs. Lela Holmes, his wife, discovered Holmes' body hanging from a rafter by a plastic water hose.

Holmes had recently returned from St. Clare Hospital, Monroe, Green, WI.

Survivors include his widow, Lela, two daughters, Mrs. Richard Eudey and Mrs. Hylan Gray both of Rockford; one son Raymond, Rockford; 11 sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Beaird, Great Falls, MO., Mrs. Lester Roinson, Nampa Idaho, Mrs. Lester Bjork, Mrs. Mae Lundall, Mrs. Clem Phalen, Mrs. Roger Renton and Mrs. John Renton, all of Rockford, Mrs. Alberta Hall of Henderson NV, Mrs. Jerry Renton, Pamona CA, Mrs. Albert Kirby, GA and Mrs. Marvin Swanson, Winnebago; Three brothers Emerson, Rockford, Robert, Topeka, and Harold, CA; and 7 grandchildren.

Services will be at 1PM Friday in the Delehanty Furneral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Garden.
