General Notes:
George died in 1926 in Canton, Stark County, Ohio of stomach cancer, the same cause of death for his father. The death certificate lists his wife's name as Margaret and that he was widowed. I am wondering if she may have been his 3rd wife, following Nevada Ramsey, or if the informant, Mrs. Marcia Bukoski, who was probably his daughter from his first wife just got the name wrong. I can find no marriage certificate yet.

According to the Marriage Register of Eaton County, Michigan, this was the first marriage for Nevada Ramsey and the second marriage for George Van Ostrand. I believe that his first wife may have died because their daughter was sent to be raised by George's parents while he remarried in 1906. His daughter appears on the 1910 census living with George's parents.
