Margaret Weir Renton ¹

  General Notes:

There is one strange 1870 US Census listing for a William Renton, age 4, and a female listed as Marg J. Pheir, age 9, in the same Van Buren Township as the rest of his family. However, it must have been some distance away as the parent's house was listed as Page 45 while these two children were found on Page 9. Both census pages show Bellville as the Post Office but no other locations are shown. The census for the parents was conducted on 16 June 1870 while the strange census entry for the 2 children was conducted on 3 Jun 1870. The enumeration of the 2 children are entered as is there was no adult present in the household, just the two young children. I am at a loss to explain why they were entered on the form in this manner.
