bullet  General Notes:

Contrary to what some other researchers are claiming and many others have merely copied, Sarah Jane Arnspiger did NOT marry Arthur Springate. It was her sister, Pauline, that married Arthur Springate and so far I have marriage records, along with several census records and images to prove that. What may be slightly confusing is that for the 1860 and 1870 census records, Arthur's name appears as "A. M." but by comparing the names of his children from the 1850 census and the 1880 census, it is obvious that A. M. and Arthur are the same person.

There were several Springates in the area at that time and it may be possible that Sarah Jane might have married one other Springate but I have not yet found any evidence to support that and there appears to be no evidence that she ever married Arthur Springate.
