The dates for this individual are very questionable. He first appears on a tax list in 1802. However, his first child was born in Feb 1797 which means he had to have married in 1796. Estimate his age at the time of his marriage as 18 years old. Was he living with his father and that is why he is not on the tax rolls? Was he in another county? Why does he not appear until 1802? Is he actually on the tax roll, just with his name misspelled and therefore not found?? Did he stay in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, marry there and then come to Kentucky? Is he in Fayette County, Kentucky which is what Jessamine county Kentucky was in 1797? The birth date for the first child is sure level 4. If we estimate his age at 18 then he was born in 1778. This is my hypothesis at this time. 8/11/99.
He would have been 16 in 1795 when the family moved to Kentucky. Perhaps he stayed behind with his uncle John Bruner, who had power of attorney from Paul to sell his land in Bedford County. If he married in 1796, no record has been found in Jessamine. Has anyone looked in Bedford?? Also perhaps looking in Fayette County, Kentucky would be productive.
The appraisal of the estate shows the estate settled 26 Sept 1834. Note signed by Stephen Arnspiger and Henry Rhorer. On 14 Sept 1836 a deed in Jessamine County (Book M, page. 40) shows Elizabeth Arnspiger, widow of Henry Arnspiger, selling to Johnson Mitchell, 95+ acres on Jessamine creek. On 26 Mar 1838, an Indenture for Sale of Henry Arnspiger land by John Arnspiger mentioning all living Henry Arnspiger heirs at this time, i.e. John, Stephen, David, Samuel, Mary Grow, wife of Christopher Grow, Sarah, Catherine all over 21 years, also George and Frances infants under 21 years. Samuel was named guardian. By this time Elizabeth had died.

Marriage Notes:
Very little is known about Henry and Elizabeth. Their birthdates are unknown, no marriage record has been found, even Elizabeth's surname is not known with any certainty. What is known is that they lived in Jessamine County, Kentucky, were prosperous farmers, and raised a large family.
When Henry died sometime before the end of August 1833 he was probably not yet 60 years old. The oldest son, John, was appointed administrator of the estate. The inventory made at the end of August which is on file in the Jessamine County courthouse gives an idea of how successful Henry was. He had fields planted in corn, wheat, rye and oats. The corn field alone was 200 acres. He had a lot of livestock: 8 horses, 11 cattle, 45 hogs, 50 sheep and 31 geese. He owned wagons and considerable farm implements. The house must have been quite large judging from the amount of beds and furniture. There was a lot of bedding including quilts, coverlets and a counterpane. They also owned a clock valued at $25.00 , a sugar chest , books and looking glasses. The appraised value of his personal property was $937.91.
When the last of Henry and Elizabeth's land was sold off in 1838 Elizabeth was no longer living, however, the land transaction record lists all nine of their children. Two of the children, George and Frances, were under the age of 21, and their older brother Samuel had been named their guardian. The land, a tract of 95 acres was sold for $2,464.86.
All of the children moved on to Illinois settling in Greene County. That area of Greene County became Jersey County when it was created in 1839. Most of the children were married there in the 1830s and 1840s. David and his family eventually went to settle in Texas, Samuel returned to Jessamine County, and George and family traveled the Oregon Trail to Oregon. -------------------------------------------
