Mary Elizabeth Lightfoot ^{4 6 7 8 9}

   Other names for Mary were Mamie Lightfoot,^{1 2} Mary Leibeth Lightfoot and Mary Marie Lightfoot.^{3 5 10}

  General Notes:

There is some question as to her true middle name. A few researchers indicate that it was May in honor of her mother. Many others indicate that her middle name was Elizabeth because the official Iowa county records show it entered that way. Her marriage record indicates Marie. There is a birth record for her daughter, Ruth, which shows that Ruth's middle name was Leibeth and that her mother's name was Leibeth. This could be a transcription error from the original records and perhaps their names were Lizbeth or Elizabeth. More documentation is needed.
