The fact that there exists a marriage document for Merrill Wier and Margie Erickson dated 1942 in Alaska yet there is also a 1940 US Census document from Wisconsin showing them living together with Margie using a married name of Wier could mean only one of two different things. First, there is the possibility that in 1940 they really weren't married but just living together. Second, is the possibility that they were really married sometime before 1940 but divorced and then were remarried in Alaska in 1942. The marriage document from Alaska shows Margie using her maiden name. There are no records to support the second conclusion.
