  General Notes:

Stephen's age on all but his first census in 1870 report his age one year younger that his true age thus making it appear that his birth year was 1870 instead of 1869. The actual birth register from Wayne County, Michigan is a little confusing but his age on the 1870 US Census which was conducted in June 1870 gave his age at that time as 10 months which confirms his actual birth date of 11 Aug 1869 and not 1870. For some reason, he must have been lead to believe that he was born in 1870.
