8 Walker, Thurman D., 91, former Rome City resident, died Wednesday in Miller's Merry Manor, LaGrange. Born Sept. 4, 1888 in rural Wawaka, he was the son of John and Samantha Walker. His wife, the former Hazel Shipe, died in 1950. He was a retired farmer and employee of Northern Indiana Sand & Gravel Co. and a member of the Woodruff United Methodist Church. Survivors are a son, Hugh of Wolcottville; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A son Darl and a daughter preceded him in death. Funeral will be Saturday in Hutchins-Williams Funeral Home in Wolcottville. Burial, Woodland Cemetery.
