  General Notes:

There are no birth documents to clarify whether her birth year was 1877 or 1878. Her supposed birth month was in July which came after the actual date that all census enumerations were based, therefore any age shown on the census should have been her last birthday and not the closest or next birthday.

The 1880 US Census would seem to indicate 1877.
The 1885 Iowa State Census would seem to indicate 1878.
The 1895 Iowa State Census would seem to indicate 1878.
The 1900 US Census gave her birth date was July 1878.
The 1910 US Census would seem to indicate 1877.
The 1920 US Census would seem to indicate 1877.
The 1930 US Census would seem to indicate 1877.
Her gravestone gives her birth year as 1877.

Many researchers point to the pension file application by her father, Lewis Huett, in which he indicated that her birth date was 13 Jul 1878. However, be aware that this application was completed in 1915 at age 72 and only 4 years before his death. His memory may have been dimmed and inaccurate at the time.

Bert Sharp and Mary Ann Huett were probably undergoing or contemplating a divorce around 1900 because she appears in the 1900 US Census living back home with her parents with her marital status marked as widowed. At the same time, Bert appeared in the 1900 US Census in Saint Joseph, Missouri living alone but his marital status was given as married for three years.

While Bert was living in Missouri, their divorce must have become final because Bert was remarried to Olive B. Mozingo of Nodaway County, Missouri. Bert and his second wife move back to Fort Madison, Iowa where they both appear in the 1910 US Census.

The 1930 US Census shows that Bert and his second wife had moved to Dickson, Arkansas. That wife either died or they were soon divorced and in 1936 Bert was remarried to his third wife, Amy May Benward, in Benton County, Arkansas.
