"Robert Kuhn, who was born in Canton, Ohio, 25 December 1866. He was married to Leila Dusher; no children were born to this couple. As has been noted, he took a great interest in the preparation of this manuscript; and the compiler of it is greatly indebted to him for this interest and his generous contributions. In the first World War he was appointed first lieutenant, Adjutant General's Department, 15 August 1917. He served overseas from 9 September 1918 to 22 August 1919. He was discharged 16 September 1919 while serving as Major. He died 7 January 1949."
