I don't know if it was intentional or a mistake but his middle name of Wilford, while similar sounding, is spelled differently than that of his father who spelled it Wilfred. Even with the different spellings, some documents refer to them and Senior and Junior. ------------------------------------------

Bud Lightfoot, 61, of 25726 Lily Creek Drive, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday (March 23, 2005) at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Jan. 27, 1944, in Long Beach, Calif., to Orbie W. Sr. and Ruth E. (Dunker) Lightfoot. He married Phyllis E. Mandel on March 21, 1970, in Elkhart.
She survives, along with one daughter, Sarah (Randy) Williams of Elkhart; two sons, Scott (Cheryl) Lightfoot of Toledo, Ohio, and Paul (Karmen) Lightfoot of Elkhart; his mother, Ruth Lightfoot of Elkhart; two sisters, Carol Miracle of Elkhart and Ruth E. (Jay) Cook of Park Hill, Ontario, Canada; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Alex Wayne Lightfoot.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the 1 p.m. Saturday services at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Jeff Lewis will officiate. Entombment will be in Chapel Hill Mausoleum. There will be a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Friday during the visitation.
Mr. Lightfoot served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded three Purple Hearts, one Bronze Star, one Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster and the Vietnam Commendation Medal.
He was employed for 30 years by the Carpenter Union 413 and, for the past five years, by Wells Cargo. He was a member of Winding Waters Brethren Church, Tyrian Masonic Lodge 718, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, Scout Troop 103, Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow. He was the local founder of the Northern Hoop of Tecumseh Lodge.
Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army or Breast Cancer of Northern Indiana.
