⁴ Elza E. Culler, prominent Monroe Township farmer, died Friday night at his home, one mile south of Lucas, after an illness of three months. He was born December 22, 1863, and had been a lifelong resident of Monroe Township. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, and an official of that church for many years. At the time of his death he was superintendent of the Mt. Zion Cemetery, which under his care has shown constant improvement. Culler was active in all community enterprises, a member of the Farm Bureau and the Mohawk Grange. His wife, Cora (Fox) Culler, died in 1925, and his mother preceded him in death last September.
He is survived by two sons, Lawrence A., and Gaylord H. Culler, and one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Applegate, all of Lucas, and one brother, Ora Culler of Loudonville, one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Kaylor of Lucas and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Monday at 2:30 p.m., by the pastor, Rev. M. Glenn Bishop, assisted by Rev. George Bright of Lucas. Funeral services in charge of John S. Jones funeral directors will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
