But a close examination of the image shows that what appears to be a "0" in 1805 may actually be the lower half of the number 5 thus indicating the intent to write his year of birth as 1855. His age given as 44 on the census would also indicate the intent to write 1855 instead of 1805 as sometimes appears in many indexes.
