NOTE - George's birth location is a little bit of a mystery. This 1870 census record, the 1880, and the 1900 census give his birth location as "Illinois", however the 1850 census shows that George was born in Kentucky, which I believe is probably correct. The obituary for his father, Christopher Grow, mentions that the family didn't move to Indiana until 1834, which was about 4 years after the birth of George, therefore Kentucky was most likely the birth location of George.
