• His obituary was published in the Rockford Register-Star on 14 February 2003 in Rockford, IL. 3 Kenneth G. Hoey, of Harvard, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at home.
He was born July 3, 1938, in Harvard, to Vernon C. and Marie F. (Koltz) Hoey. He married Haroldene Olcott on April 2, 1960, in Woodstock.
He had worked at Dean Foods in Chemung for 43 years, achieving the position of foreman. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard. He also was a member of the Harvard Moose Lodge where he enjoyed playing cards. He claimed to be the youngest Moose card player, and was a coach and umpire for the Harvard Little League for 25 years. He delivered Meals on Wheels and enjoyed biking and walking. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.
Survivors include his wife of Harvard; his mother of Harvard; two sons, Richard (Cynthia) Hoey of Marengo and Donald (Sheri) Hoey of Walworth, Wis.; a daughter, Gail (Michael) Mengeling of Woodstock; six grandchildren, Evan, Austin, Morgan, Rayne, Garrett and Madelyn; and two brothers, Gerald (Marjorie) Hoey of Harvard and Tom Hoey of Rockford.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister-in-law, Pamela Hoey.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 504 E. Diggins St., Harvard. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the church. The Rev. Robert C. Kinnear will officiate.
Interment will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Harvard Boys League. ------------------------------------------ .
