  General Notes:

Following the death of his first wife in 1847, Jonas was remarried in 1850 to Rebecca Matilda Wright who also was previously married to a Conner. Jonas and Rebecca had 6 children.

The 1850 US Census shows Jonas living with his 2nd wife, Rebecca Wright, along with 2 of his children from his 1st wife. In addition there are 2 younger children, age 7 and 4, that are not known to have been born to his first wife. Their ages make it possible that his first wife could have been the mother but that would mean that they would have had children born in 1842, 1843, 1845, 1846, and 1847. Those birth years would have been so close together to make it illogical to assume that those 2 children were born to his first wife. Instead, his second wife, who was also previously married to a Conner, may be the mother of the two children. They may have been given the surname of Roush at the time of the 1850 Census whether or not they were ever officially adopted by Jonas.
