• Her obituary was published in the Springfield Daily News-Sun on 3 March 1917 in Springfield, OH.

The many friends of Mrs. Olive A. Ernsberger, aged 68 years, wife of Rev. Dr. Cyrus S. Ernsberger, field secretary of Wittenberg college will learn with sorrow of her death, which occurred at the residence, 32 East Cassilly street, Friday evening at 7:40 o'clock. Mrs. Ernsberger had been in failing health since last November, but her condition was not considered serious until Monday evening. Although everything that medical aid could do was called upon for Mrs. Ernsberger, yet all proved without avail.

Since her residence in this city, where she has resided for seven years, Mrs. Ernsberger has made a host of friends by her quiet and unassuming ways. She was essentially a home body and will be greatly missed in her family circle. She was a member of the Fourth Lutheran church and was affiliated with the various societies of that church. She was born in Hamilton county, near Cincinnati. On July 4, 1871, she was married in this city to Rev. Ernsberger.

Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: J. O. Ernsberger, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Mrs. J. J. Werner and Rev. H. B. Ernsberger, both of Cleveland; Mrs. J. F. Buttermore, of Toledo, and the Misses Helen and Sarah Ernsberger, both of this city.

Funeral services will be held at the residence Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will be made in Ferncliff cemetery. The funeral services will be private.
