Sarah's surname and that of her father is given as Storrs in Sarah's marriage record. Copies of the birth records of three of her children give the name as Starr. Sarah was listed as a minor and a spinster residing at 13 Portland Street (presumably in Manchester) in the record of her marriage. Her father Joseph's occupation was listed as spinner. We have so far been unable to locate a death or cemetery record for Sarah. However, the 1860 Otoe County, Nebraska census shows husband Richard living in a hotel, daughter Jane working as a domestic in the household of Edward and Sarah Dawson, daughter Emma in the household of Martin and Eliza Hawley, son Thomas in a hotel, and John and Samuel living in the household of Henry and Sarah Pope, English immigrants. Only George was unaccounted for. The fact that family members were spread throughout Nebraska City in 1860 substantiates the story that Sarah died not long after arriving in Nebraska . ---------------------------------------- Census: 30 MAR 1851 Car Green, Stockport, Cheshire, England ----------------------------------------

The marriage was recorded in the civil register, which stated the marriage was performed in the parish church of Manchester according to the rites and ceremonies of the established church after Banns. Witnesses were John and Margaret Storrs, presumably relatives of the bride. --------------------------------
