He intended to leave the US from the port of New York aboard the SS Olympic on 21 Jul 1923. His application was supported by an identification declaration from Jacob E. Lipman, Dean of Agriculture in New Brunswick, NJ.

There is a record of a passenger arrival on 16 Sep 1924 at Ellis Island in New York for Robert returning aboard the SS Pittsburgh which sailed from Southampton on a voyage which took 10 days.
