NOTE - If his birth date was 26 Aug 1836, then his age should have been 13 instead of 15.

Emanuel married Mary E. Donaldson on 17 May 1859 in , Wayne County, OH.¹ (Mary E. Donaldson was born about 1841 and died after May 1859.)

  Marriage Notes:

I do not yet have all the descendents of Jacob Harpster and Susannah Lightfoot Smith identified. Emanuel is their only direct offspring. I do have the following with respect to him. Emanuel married Ruth Donaldson in Wayne County on May 17, 1859. They had four children, two of which died in infancy, and then H. C. Harpster and Charles H. Harpster . Emanuel's obituary for September 15, 1923 indicated that he had one grandson and one great-grandson when he died. The grandson is Warren D. Harpster and the great-grandson is Richard Harpster (small world, but that is not me). His obituary also indicates that Charles H. lived in Santa Barbara. Charles H. apparently did not have any children. Mary, Emanuel's wife, died September 20, 1896 in Indiana.
