Private services are being held for Mrs. Walton, burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia.

Grace was born April 20, 1918, in Vandalia, the daughter of Walter L. and Catheryne F. (Foudry) Darner. She married Wayne E. Walton on June 1, 1952. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2000.

Grace was a teacher in the Vandalia School District and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vandalia and a member of the women's Rinky Dink Club.

She is survived by her daughter De Wayne Walton of Vandalia and step daughters Mary Ellen and husband Stephen Poole of Urbana, IL and Linda Walton of Sierra Madre, CA; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Elizabeth, and sister Carrie.
