General Notes:
[Genealogy.com, LLC WFT Vol. 60, Ed. 1, Tree #2051, submitted by Milton Douglas Perry ] My father was a large man. He knew how to spank and he could spank (as he would say for your own good.) I didn't realize what a handsome man he was, until I saw him in a picture in Hawaii with one of those loud shirts on. I was twenty-nine. I didn't know that I was that handsome, but everybody said I look like my father even his sisters and brothers-in-law who are still alive today. I really appreciated the spankings today, but I found it difficult to spank my son. ----------------------------------------

Gus, Kentucky July 1936
Dear John,
Well how is the boy by now. I am all O.K., I reckon, but what I am wondering about is why you ran off all at once and not ask anyone wheather you could or not. Now "just who did you get the madiest at?" What did anyone do to make you run off. I never got so aggravated before in my life. Someone told me that you had left. and I couldn't believe it. I just struck out over to your house to find out, and of course you had to be gone. I was planning on us having a big time this summer and was looking for you over home Sat. night after the Tuesday you left. When are you coming back? & make it as soon as you can.
What are you doing? I am not doing much of anything. I went to Greenville yesterday to get in the C.C.C., but couldn't. We wasn't on the Relief, but they took boys that wasn't on the Relief. If I had told one lie, I would have got on. If they take any more I think I will tell 2 or 3. Bet yu wish you had been there. Gramvall Whitaker got on. He went out there Monday & told them that he was living with his dad & that they wasn't on Relief & they wouldn't have him and he went back the next day & told them he was living with his Uncle & he was on the Relief & he got on. And boy if I won't tell the one next time nobody will never. One of my cousins got in by just telling that his dad owned one farm & his dad has a good job & owns 3 farms. If I had told them I would got in. Well I will close for this time
