bullet  General Notes:

Catherine Darner was the daughter of John Jacob and Maria Barbara Darner. Her parents were from Germany and settled in Ohio around 1800 after living in Maryland. They are supposedly buried in Sonora, Muskingum County, Ohio having died around 1810-1818. She had at least 8 siblings: Jacob, John, Elizabeth, Magdalena, Andrew, John, Jacob and Philip according to LDS records.

Catherine appears to have married Herman Umstead after her first husband, Daniel Spicer, died. Depending on which record you read, she was either Daniel's second or third wife.
