Received land East and Central Ohio, 8 Feb 1819. Deed, 22 Apr 1816, received patient, SW Qtr Sec 1, Ohio, Muskingum, Perry Township, as plotted by James Madison. So he was living in Ohio when he purchased land in Guernsey Co. from bro-in-law, George Wine. Deed, 1829, Jacob, Andrew and other sold to brother-in-law, Cornelius Bast, part of Sec 22, Muskingum, their father's original land. Contracted, 19 Sep 1917, recorded 23 Jun 1829, Jacob Darner, Muskingum County, Ohio, to sell to school Director of 6th Dist, Perry Township, part of SW Qtr Sec 1, for the district school. Deed, 7 Dec 1827, sold to Phillip Darner of Muskingum Co. for $1000, another part of SW Qtr Sec 1. Deed, Entered by Jacob Darner Sr., 23 Feb 1817, Sec 22, From Salem Township.

Deed, 26 May 1821, Andrew Darner and Jacob Darner of Muskingum County, Ohio to Jacob Baker, of Frederick, MD, 1/2 quarter Sec, Muskingum County, Ohio, it being 1 /2 SW quarter Sec 22, Twp 2, Range 6, being equally divided East and West, this being the North 1/2 of said quarter Sec. Appeared also Hannah Darner wife of Andrew Darner and Ann Darner wife of Jacob Darner.

1825 Tax list, Ohio, Muskingum County, Ohio, Salem Township, settled on part of SW Qtr Sec 22, which his father Jacob Darner Sr. acquired , 23 Feb 1817 having sold part of the quarter to Cornelius Blast, their brother-in-law.

Catherine Beiser, Margaret G. Lebherz, 1994. Indicates Ann predec'd him, as the court provided guardians for the two minor children, John, age 13 and Andrew, age 11, and there is no mention of a widow. Jacob died intestate. On 26 Sep 1828, Jacob Baker, appointed Adm. of personal estate of Jacob Darner by Special Court of Common Pleas, Zanesville; Jacob Baker, Daniel Spicer and William Shively provided $600 bond. Witnessed by John Wilson, JP. It appears he had acquired an extensive chattel estate, detailed in 6 long pages in the records. Among the purchasers of items were: Phillip Darner (pd by note), Daniel Spicer (pd by note), William A. Darner, George Evans, Henry Slack, William Winn (pd by note) Isaac Whisecraft (pd by note), George Bowman (pd by note), Andrew Darner (pd by note), Thomas Saffel (pd by note), Jacob Sniff (pd by note) and many other marked paid. Those paying by note were probably connected family wise.
