His official death certificate has his birth year as 1853 instead of 1843. However, the doctor correctly calculated his age as 87 years which would indicate a birth year of 1843. The informant was his son, William. I believe that the aged Jared may have been staying with his son, William, in Franklin Township, Coshocton County, Ohio up until the time of his death. (Brian L.
