• Her obituary was published in the Mount Vernon Register News on 24 December 1943 in Mount Vernon, IL.

Amanda J. French died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday night at the family home in Farrington township where she had lived since her marriage to the late A. T. French in 1886. She was 84 years, seven months and ten days old.

Mr. French preceded her in death about four years ago.

She was the daughter of Griffith and Elizabeth (Spicer) Taylor.

Mrs. French is survived by four sons, Aaron of St. Louis, Robert of Blueford, Logan of Centralia, Arthur of Carlton, IL., and a daughter Mrs. James Davis of Bluford.

Mrs. French had been in ill health for some time and was cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Davis who have made their home with her for the past five years.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Delbert Goff at Lowery church Sunday, December 26th at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Lowery cemetery.

The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home until 2 p.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the family home in Farrington township.
