Catherine has a second marriage after Jacob Brantner died to John Stoner in Washington County MD. They raised their child Mary along with the four Brantner children in Richland County Ohio. My husband is descended from Catherine and Jacob's son Jonas. He and his brother Samuel went to the California gold rush in 1849 and then to the Rush to the Rockies in 1859 and settled in Colorado. My new grandson Jonathan Brantner is a 5th generation Coloradoan and his Great Grandfather Louis Brantner who lives on Brantner Road is 91 and still gardening. Jonathan would be a 7th Great Grandson of George and Barbara Brantner of Washington County, Maryland and of Christopher and Catherine Arnsberger, and a 6th Great Grandson of Catherine and Jacob. He's only a couple months old, so I haven't had a chance to indoctrinate him on the importance of genealogy yet. @:>)

I am not sure where your Daniel fits into the picture unless he is a son of Christopher listed here as child number two. I have in my notes a Daniel Henry born in Franklin, Ohio circa 1825 possibly son of Christopher Arnsberger and Catherine Fister. I have a ton of Poffenberger research too because Jacob Brantner's sister Mary married into the Poffenberger family. So my husband has Poffenbergers on both sides of the equation.

Some Arnsberger researchers indicate Christopher above is a son of the emigrating ancestor George Heinrich Arnspiger. George Heinrich arrived in Philadelphia aboard the Charming Nancy on 7 Oct. 1737, and he married Maria Magdalena Rausch circa 1741 Conestoga Township. Lancaster Co PA. I have been unable to find any baptismal records and I don't think anyone else has either - so it's circumstantial evidence to this point that Christopher is their son. His birth date is listed circa 1744 in some places. Some accounts say that Christopher married Elizabeth Fahrner and some say Catherine Fahrner. Donna Irish's Marriages and Marriage Evidence in PA German Churches p. 212 lists a marriage in the First Reform Church in Lancaster County PA for Ernstberger Christopher and Catherine Fahrner on 3 Dec.1771. I think her daughter Catherine Arnsberger Brantner Stoner is named after her. George Heinrich made a will 25 January 1754 in Donegal Township. Lancaster, PA. One of the other researchers sent me a copy of it. He gave his estate to his wife Magdelena and the children are not named. Catherine Fahrner Arnsberger's will was probated in October 1820, but I've not looked for that yet when I've researched in MD. I've been too busy sorting Brantners. I spent a lot of time in the land records last time, and glanced through some of Christopher's. Next time I will get copies of all of them. I also got maps of some of the land parcels so that I could locate them better. Christopher purchased in 1796 part of a parcel of land called "Well Done" - another piece of it was purchased in 1783 by Andreas Brantner - the person we believe is the Brantner emigrating ancestor. I have proven his son John and believe George is also a son although it is not proven yet. John and George both had pieces of Well Done and some of those pieces passed around the Brantner family for years. George is listed on the estate accounts for Christopher Arnsberger - apparently they were neighbors and their children married.

I have corresponded with a descendant of Ester Arnsberger Curtis. Her family is very interesting. I also got a bit of material from a Spong descendant.

I also have more notes on the two brothers who went to Ohio, but am getting too brain dead to search them out. Let me know what you think.

Males over 45 years: 1 (Christopher Arnsberger, abt 55)
Males 16-26: 3 (Christopher, 24; any two of Henry, Jacob, John, Frederick, or George)
Males 10-16: 1 (any one of Henry, Jacob, John, Frederick, or George)
Males under 10: 2 (Michael age 7; any one of Henry, Jacob, Frederick, or George)

Females over 45: (Catharina, abt 49)
Females 10-16: 2 (Catherine, age 14, and either Mary or Casandra)
Females under 10: 3 (Esther age 2; Elizabeth, age 4; and either Mary or Casandra)

NOTE - They had a total of 7 male and 6 female children but this 1800 census shows only 6 males and 5 females, one less in each gender. Anna who would have been 27 years old for this census was either married and living elsewhere or could have died prior to this census. Without additional birth date information, it can not be determined just which one male was not included on this census.

Of the four daughters without a specific birth date, their ages could span from the minimum age category of newborn (under 10) to a maximum age category of 16. This means their birth years would be "Between 1784-1800": Catherine, Mary, Casandra, and Elizabeth.

Of the five males without a specific birth date, their ages could span from the minimum age category of 10 to a maximum age category of 26. This means their birth years would be "Between 1774-1790": Henry, Jacob, John, Frederick, and George.
