  Burial Notes:

There is some confusion about his birth date, date of death, and burial location. According to the California Death Index and dates taken from "California Cemetery Transcriptions", his actual date of death was 28 Nov 1950 in San Francisco and was buried in near-by Napa, CA. But the Find-A-Grave memorial page for a burial plot in West Liberty, IA shows his date of death as 24 Dec 1953 (instead of 1950) in San Francisco with his actual burial in West Liberty, IA.

In addition to the Find-A-Grave memorial page in West Liberty, IA (Find a Grave Memorial 34759761) there is also another memorial page for his burial in Napa, CA (Find a Grave Memorial 130250777).

I'm wondering how there could be two burial spots. If the California Cemetery Transcriptions show his name then that would mean that he was actually buried for at least a brief time in California. Then perhaps after some time passed, his remains could have been reinterred in the James family plot at West Liberty, IA where he would be adjacent to his wife who died about 11 months prior and also adjacent to his son who had died in 1918 at the age of 9. In addition, many other James family members were buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
