3 4 Etta Mae Garverick, 73, of 9142 County Road 38, died at 7:30 this morning in Galion Community Hospital.

Born in Galion, Aug. 10, 1905, she was the daughter of Lewis B. and Estella A. (Rife) Gibbons.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth M. Garverick and six sons, Harold, Howard and Richard Eugene Stroup; F. Dale and Charles Garverick, all of Galion; and Paul Stroup, Crestline.

Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Helen Viola) McDonald, California; three brothers, Robert J. and Russell E. Gibbons, both California and James L. Gibbons, Crestline and a half-brother, Thomas Laycox, of Chicago.

Services Friday at 1 p.m. at the Volk-Richardson Funeral Home will be officiated by seminarian Mark Freer. Calling hours are after 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and evening. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.

5 Services for Mrs. Etta Mae (Gibbons) Garverick, 73, Galion, will be conducted at the Volk-Richardson Funeral Home here.

Seminarian Mark Freer will conduct the services at 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday and all day Thursday.

Mrs. Garverick died Tuesday morning at Galion Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 10, 1905 in Galion.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth M. Garverick; 6 sons, Harold Stroup, Howard Stroup, Richard Eugene Stroup, F. Dale Garverick and Charles Garverick of Galion and Paul Stroup of Crestline; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are 3 brothers, Robert J. Gibbons and Russel E. Gibbons of California and James L. Gibbons of Crestline; a half brother, Thomas Laycox of Chicago, Ill.; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Helen Viola) McDonald of California.

According to the marriage license, John David Stroup, was divorced when he married Etta Mae Gibbons. Etta Mae was only 16 years old at the time but lied about her birth year giving 1904 instead of 1905 thus making herself out to be 17.
