Lewis was not listed on the 1900 census with his father and step-mother when he would have been about 14 years old.

  Death Notes:

John's wife, Estella, was the informant on his death certificate. His date of birth was entered as 17 Sep 1896 instead of the expected 17 Jul 1884. However his age was correctly entered as 38 years, 11 months, and 13 days. The 1896 birth date was written in a different handwriting and looks as if it was entered afterwards, probably erroneously by the physician as he filled out his certification section at a later date.

Several researchers are apparently relying on an Ohio Death index which lists a Lewis Gibbons with a death date of 1 Apr 1922. This is either a mistake by the Death Index or else its a different person. The official death certificate shows a death date of 1 Aug 1922 and that document properly shows the names of his spouse and parents.
