NOTE - Although the 1870 did not show marital status, it is apparent that Christina was widowed and now the head of the household with all her children. Living in the immediate area of her farm were what appears to be some of the married siblings of her deceased husband. All living in separate dwellings with their own families were Jonathan Eveland of approximately the same age as Christina or James, Joseph Eveland about 20 years younger, another Joseph Eveland about 8 years older than Christina, and Thomas Eveland, about 15 years younger. There was also an elderly Susannah Eveland living with Martha Shelley and her family.
