² E. Wayne Heishman, 86, of La Crosse, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 1995, in his home. He was born June 4, 1909, in Brooklyn, Iowa, to Gustav and Bettie (Miller) Heishman. He married Dorothy J. Lyman on Oct. 10, 1931, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She preceded him in death on July 17, 1995. Wayne had worked for the Middle States Centel Telephone Companies in La Crosse and Des Plaines, Illinois, for 29 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1920, La Crosse, and was very active with the Boy Scouts of America. He was also an Elder in the Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by one daughter Doris (George) Riniker of West Salem, Wisconsin.; one son, John (Kathy) Heishman of Des Plaines, Illinois; five grand children; eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald Wayne; a sister, Evalena Dillion; a brother, Delmar, and his parents.

Funeral services will be noon Tuesday, in Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, La Crosse. The Rev. Michael Fradsen will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 AM until time of services Tuesday, in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Moose Heart, in care of Moose Lodge 1920, La Crosse.

Elmer and his wife, Dorothy, share one large gravestone of polished gray granite approximately 36" wide and 24" tall. The inscription reads "Heishman - Dorothy J., 1911-1995, E. Wayne, 1909-1995".
