bullet  General Notes:

[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 3, Ed. 1, Tree #4129, James A. Mayhew ]
I remember little of my Uncle Jack except that he was always described as a bit of a "rounder." He was in World War I in some capacity and in 1933 he received a soldiers bonus. He may have been active in "Coxey 's Army" who marched on Washington demanding a bonus. At the time of receiving his bonus he took a taxi from Washington DC to Cumberland, Maryland.

He seemed to always be able to con others out of money. During the depression while standing in front of the local poolroom he became an eye witness to a streetcar accident thus enabling to collect for his testimony regarding the accident. He was also known as a person who was familiar with demon rum.
