Edwin Uriah Mayhew ¹

   Cause of his death was Stroke.

I have only two remembrances of my grandfather, one was when I once went to visit him and my grandmother when they lived at Cumberland, Maryland at which time I sat on his lap for a few moments. The second time is when I saw him in his coffin at the time of his death. As I recall it w as a coffin which was only open on the top half so that his body was visible only from the waist up. There was also a veiling material placed over the coffin opening. He is buried at Indian Mound Cemetery at Romney West Virginia. And I have visited his grave several times.

Edwin married Ida Jane Biser, daughter of Andrew Jackson Biser and Mary Ellen Allen, on 29 July 1890 in Cumberland, MD.¹ (Ida Jane Biser was born on 18 December 1872 in Burlington, WV ^{1 2 3} and died in July 1935 in Warren, OH ¹.)
