I can only vaguely remember my Uncle Wilbur except tales have it that he was probably the greatest rogue in the family with stories of his attending his mothers funeral in a less than sober condition and never contributing to anyone's welfare other than his own. He ended up living in Grants Pass, Oregon. In 1969 I was in Grants Pass and happened to look in a telephone book for any listed Mayhew's. I found the name Wilbur, but did not know that he was living there. He has since died although he may still have some relatives in the area. It is also possible that his real name was Wilburn as some records have indicated.
