Catherine died 12 days after the burial of her husband.

Only 3 daughters can be affirmatively accounted for from her marriage to William John Ermentrout yet Catherine indicated on the 1910 US Census that she had given birth to 5 children of whom only 3 were still alive. There is the possibility of a daughter named Catherine who supposed was born to a 1st husband named Benjamin Ermentrout and perhaps that daughter may have died before 1910. That could account for a total of 4 children and perhaps a 5th child could have been a stillborn, unnamed infant. Some researchers claim such a male stillborn child born on 20 Jul 1860 in Ladoga, Montgomery County, Indiana. No other records are known to exist.

  Marriage Notes:

This marriage to Benjamin Ermentrout seems dubious as there are no records of such a marriage nor are there any records for a Benjamin Ermentrout. Yet, there are some records to support a daughter named Catherine born about 1855. It is known that Catherine did not marry William John Ermentrout until 1858 so the daughter Catherine was either from a first husband of Catherine's named Benjamin or was a daughter from William John Ermentrout born illegitimately before their marriage.
