Thomas Smith met his future wife at the Log Church near Pig Skin Ridge. He was preaching at the Church and met Sophia Ross whom he later married. I have a picture of the Church taken in Dec 1993, while we were touring the lands owned by the Ross family and visited Robert Ross' grave.

Enlisted 1 Jan 1864 Company K, 15th West Virginia Inf. 18 Jun 1864. Captured at Lynchburg/Andersonville Prison Dec 1864. Sang song written while in prison.
