bullet  General Notes:

Jacob's birth location is in dispute. Some researchers show it as Conococheague, Washington County, Maryland (usually misspelled as Conacagmage, Maryland due to Internet copying), others show it as being in Frederick County, Maryland, while others show it as being in Pennsylvania. On the 1850 US Census, both he and his wife gave their birth location as Pennsylvania.

Although his parents were first married probably in Pennsylvania, Henry Weaver and Catherina, his wife, purchased property in Frederick County, Maryland from James Piles on 21 August 1769. They remained in Frederick County until 22 Apr 1774 when they sold their property to Lewis Smith and they moved back to Pennsylvania. They remained in Pennsylvania until 1793 when Henry Weaver received a land grant in Monongalia County, Virginia which was later redistricted as West Virginia following the Civil War.

What is clear from that time line is that the parents were in Maryland only from 1769 to 1774. If one were to assume that Jacob's year of birth was 1772, then Frederick County, Maryland would be the most probable location. On the other hand, many others researchers believe that his year of birth was not until 1776 in which case, Pennsylvania would be the most likely location.

And unfortunately, Jacob confuses all of this on the 1850 census by giving a birth location of Pennsylvania but an age which places his parents in Maryland before they moved to Pennsylvania.

bullet  Noted events in his life were:

• He has alternate birth information of 1770.The year of birth appears on his FindAGrave.com memorial page. The almost illegible gravestone supposedly says "Aged 83 years" which when calculated from his date of death in 1853 would make the 1770 birth year the most believable.

• He has alternate birth date of 28 July 1772 and a birth location of Conococheague, MD.

• He was baptized at the Maryland Reformed Church on 28 August 1776 in Middletown, MD.
