8 Death of Mrs. J. G. Fast
Mrs. Sarah A. Kiser was born in Center township, Mercer county, Ohio on October 8, 1841. She departed this life at Rockford, Ohio, August 5, 1911, aged 69 years 9 months and 27 days. On March 4, 1864 she was united in marriage to J. G. Fast. To this union were born, ten children. Six sons and four daughters. Of these, three sons have preceded her to the spirit land. In the year of 1857, Sister Fast united with the church of God at Beery church and always remained a faithful member of this church. She was a patient and sweet spirited through all her sickness. She left to mourn their loss the husband, three sons and four daughters, three sisters and one brother, and nineteen grandchildren. The surviving children are R. E. Fast of St. Marys, James Fast of Arkansas, Clemons Fast of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mrs. Amanda Harshe Ashtabula, Ohio, Mrs. Martha F. Couts of Van Wert, Mrs Belle Spry of Rockford, and Mrs. Bessie F. Pennell of Michigan. The funeral was held from the United Brethren church. Rev. W. F. Neff of Celina officiating, assisted by Rev. Thomas Coats and Rev. C. L. Welch. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.
We wish to thank the neighbors and friends for their many acts of sympathy and kindness, during the illness and death of our beloved wife and mother. We thank the choir for their beautiful song, and the minister for his comforting words, those who gave the beautiful tributes of flowers.
