This birth year of 1865 was given on his Death Certificate. The informant was his wife. His gravestone shows the year as 1868. The death certificate was probably incorrect as the information from the informant was given during a time of great emotional stress. Later when the gravestone was order and dates were checked, the correct year of 1868 was determined. The various census records also support the 1868 date.
