W. D. Milner Dies Here

William D. Milner, 75, of rural route 7, Mount Vernon, died at 12: 30 a.m. today in Christian Welfare hospital after a week's illness. Milner, born in Wayne County, Illinois, had lived in East Saint Louis 28 years until he moved to Mount Vernon a short time ago. He worked for Swift & Co. 28 years as a chief of police and retired nine years ago
.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mattie B. Milner; five daughters, all of East Saint Louis, Mrs. Mamie Shepherd, Mrs. Marie Mathews, Mrs. Marguerite Green, Mrs. Mary Luksza and Mrs. Mildred Tate; five sons Joseph of O'Fallon; Robert, East Saint Louis; Harvey, Collinsville; Logan, Riverside, California; and Oliver, Glendale, California; three brothers, Halleck, John and Harvey; one sister, Mrs. Effie Eyers; 29 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Milner was a member of the Central Church of Christ of Mount Vernon and a student of Roscia-Cruscia. Funeral arrangements are in the classified section. Kassly has charge.
