⁴ Funeral services for Dr. Ernest P. "Doc" Brinkmann will be held at 9:30 AM Wednesday at Holy Family Church with Monsignor Norman Goodman officiating. Burial will be at 2 PM Wednesday in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa, Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Kerrigan Funeral Home with the rosary recited at 6 PM.

Dr. Brinkmann, 75, of Lincoln died at 1:35 PM Friday, Sept. 26, 19 97 at his daughter's home in Saint Anne.

He privately practiced general dentistry and was a dentist at Lincoln Developmental Center for 20 years before retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Illinois Dental Society.

Dr. Brinkmann was a scout master with the Boy Scouts.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge 1271, Pekin; Pekin Country Club; and Lincoln VFW Post 1756, Lincoln American Legion Post No. 263 and the Knights of Columbus, all of Lincoln.

Dr. Brinkmann was a graduate of Lane Tech High School, Chicago, Louisiana State University and the University of Illinois Chicago Circle Campus College of Dentistry.

He was a past member of Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity at the University of Illinois.

Dr. Brinkmann, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, was awarded the Purple Heart in Korea.

He was born September 3, 1922 in Chicago, a son of Ernst and Pauline Engel Brinkmann. He married Jean Lightfoot.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Silvey of Bloomington and Nancy McGinnis of Saint Anne; two sons, Gregory Brinkmann of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jeffery Brinkmann of Dallas, Texas; a brother, George Brinkmann of Liberty, Missouri; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters. Memorial may be made to the Kankakee Valley Hospice, American Cancer Society or the Knights of Columbus in Lincoln.
