OBERLIN COUPLE FETED ON 38TH ANNIVERSARY

A family gathering honored the 38th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Feakins, Oberlin Sunday. The event was held at the home of their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Feakins, Vermilion. Some 28 guests attended including 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. William Cooper and Family; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Currier and Family; Mrs. Dale Pike and children were guests from Elyria.

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dudash, Mrs. Willard Hill and daughters, and Mrs. Robert Reese and daughter were from Amherst. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Feakins, Jr. and Family and Darrell Feakins of California were unable to attend. Refreshments, ice cream, cake and coffee were served.

Mrs. Ruth Evelyn Feakins, 81, 101 Jeffery Place, Amherst, died yesterday at 3:35 PM at Allen memorial Hospital, Oberlin, after a long illness.

Mrs. Feakins was born in Brownhelm and had lived in Amherst 15 years. She was a member of East Oberlin church and was a Charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 451. Her husband Glenn, died July 15, 1970.

Surviving are four daughters; Mrs. Mildred Moore, Mrs. William (Roberta) Cooper and Mrs. June Pike, all of Amherst and Mrs. Gerald (Juanita) Currier, Elyria; four sons, Elsworth Highland, Wellington, Glenn Feakins, Buena Park, California, Herbert Feakins, Vermilion, and Darrell Feakins, Amherst; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Virginia Gibson and Mrs. Lucille Campbell, both of Oberlin, and a brother, Hollis Reighley, Oberlin.

Friends will be received tomorrow and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Bittner-DeCarlo Funeral Home. The funeral will be conducted Monday, definite arrangements to be announced.

The cause of his death was Acute Circulatory Failure.
