¹ W. E. Ripley, a lifetime resident of Keya Paha county, died at the Ainsworth hospital Tuesday evening, where he had been hospitalized for the past two weeks following a heart attack.

Mr. Ripley was born June 26, 1888, the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Ripley, pioneer residents of Keya Paha county. He was educated in Springview schools and attended State Normal at Fremont.
Mr. and Mrs. Ripley observed their golden wedding anniversary on March 28, 1962. Outside of three years spent in Kansas, they lived all their married life here.

As a young man he was associated with his father in the lumber business. After the death of his father he and his sons operated the Chevrolet garage until his retirement a few years ago.

Mr. Ripley was an ardent supporter of community events, a member of the Methodist church and a member of both the Masons and Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his wife Linna, four children, Mrs. Jeanne Krause of Omaha; Wm. E. of Anchorage, Alaska; Raleigh of Denver, CO.; and Ceile of Springview. Also four sisters, Mrs. Jessie Boshart of Los Angles, Calif.; Mrs. Bess Lear of San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Madge Stiert of Bridger, Mont.; and Mrs. Genevieve Hulsizer of La Puente, Calif.; and one brother, Sterling of Venture, Calif.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, at 2:00 p. m. at the Springview auditorium, with REV. C. C. Norlin officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted with burial in Mt Hope cemetery.
